Little tikes is my number 1 choice for out door children toys. My little boy got the red and yellow special edition car for his Christmas so when I seen this on offer for £30 I decided I must buy it for my little princess.
This car is a lovely deep shade of pink very girly and perfect for any little girl. The car is of good size designed for children 1 and a half to 5 years so can last for a long time. The child sits inside the car and pushes the car with there feet and steers with the steering wheel. Its great for role play and for eager little ones to drive their own car just like mummy or daddy.
The car came in a large box and needed to be put together. The large parts of the car were in separate pieces but the roof and wheels need to be built. It came with instructions but I felt they were a little confusing to understand. We needed a hammer to tap the wheels in correctly and a screwdriver to screw the roof arms into place at the back. It took all of about 15 minutes to put it all together.
There are lots of little features that make the car that little more fun. There is a drinks holder at the back of the car witch my little ones use to store everything. There is a squeaker in the steering wheel and an ignition key that makes a clicking noise when its turned. There is a petrol cap that open and little one can pretend they are filling the car up with petrol. The left side car door opens to let little one in but the right side does not.
The car is made of durable plastic and very well made as I find all little tikes toys are. They can be stored outside and from experience take a long time to wether. We have had lots of bumps and scrapes already and the car still looks brand new with no damage.
My only downside to this car is some of the features of our other little tikes car are missing. Rather than plastic headlights on this car it is actually stickers. Also no eyes are provided with this car but I believe this may be a feature only provided with the limited edition. Also the stickers started to peel straight away for some parts like the number plate where as headlights etc were fine.
I would recommend this car to anyone its lovely version for a little girl, very durable and has so far provided hours of fun for my little girl. little tikes are very reliable and this is a perfect toy for fueling the imagination!
Very soon after my daughter starting playgroup a couple of the Little Tikes Coupe Cars started appearing - 2 cars, approx 40 children......the maths don't really add up there do they!?!? When my little girl finally got a turn in one, she absolutely loved it and I just knew that it was something I wanted to get her for at home so she could enjoy it more (and not just have a couple of minutes per turn!!)
I bought one of the cars from my catalogue (after months of it being out of stock) so it was a little more expensive than going to a store to buy it, but I managed to get a good offer code so it wasn't that much different. I think it worked out at around £40, which when seeing that the new models are selling for up to £60 it was a good price!
The car is quite a simple design, it is a tall bubble shaped car, with a high pink roof, chunky black wheels and a few stickers on to make it even more appealing. (The stickers really should be put on the car by an adult as they are a little tricky to place and are super sticky!)The car is made from pretty tough durable plastic as is standard with Little Tikes toys, and it can certainly take quite a few bumps!! The wheels are operated by the steering wheel, which isn't a great wheel but it does the job!
There is quite a decent amount of space for the child to sit inside therefore it is quite comfortable for them. There is a door on the side of the car which is on a plastic hinge to make it open and close and this is how the child enters the car. There is no handle though, the child just literaaly pulls the top of the door to open it. To make the car move, the child needs to use their feet - think Flintstones and you have the idea!!
The car doesn't come ready built so you need to make sure you allow a little time to build it, especially if it is a present, but it literally takes minutes and with very little trouble.
My daughter has had so much enjoyment from this toy, at just over two and a half she is still able to use it but she is very tall so this will limit the length of time she can play with it. I love how this car is not only great fun but is fab for development! It encourages imagination - my daughter is forever pretending to be going to Blackburn shopping in it!! It enhances physical development as the child needs to use their feet to move the car. Another good thing about the car is that it helps the childs co-ordination as they have to work out which way to turn the wheel to make the car turn, they need to judge space in order to get the car through areas and also they need to do the two things together - move their feet and steer! A difficult thing for a young child to do at the same time!
I love this car, I think it has been a really fantastic buy and has provided many hours of fun for my little girl. Over a period of 18months this car has shown very little sign of wear and tear and when she has finished with it I am convinced it will be in fantastic condition to pass on to someone else.
Thank you for reading my review :)
Im going to start this review with a question for you..........Have you ever been to a playgroup, where there are lots of children and only three cozy coupe cars? If your answer to this question is no, then be thankful. If the answer is yes, then you will remember the screams, fights, tantrums and snot mixed with tears, as more than one child goes head to head to get into the driving seat of a cozy coupe. (and that's just the mothers!!!!)
Im afraid, I was one such mother, who would be willing my children from the sidelines. To bag a ride in the cozy coupe. My daughter was so in love with the little tikes princess cozy coupe, that I decided to get her one for her birthday.
The design of these coupe cars are very simplistic. Yet I think it is the simplicity of the toy that makes it so appealing. Basically it has a shape which always reminds me of a bubble car. It has rather a high roof and there is a fine amount of room for the child to sit in comfort within the car. There is a steering wheel which is not particularly lifelike, with very little attention to detail. However, it serves it's purpose and moves to the left and right freely.
To get into the car there is a side door which is on a plastic hinge and can be open and closed easily and safely. However, I have on one occasion witnessed a rather brutal confrontation, where an over e numbered toddler, caught another child's finger in the side door. Although no damage was done, it is important to note that caution must be taken when opening and closing the side door.
The actual frame of the car is made from hard wearing pink coloured plastic. The car comes with a variety of stickers which can be stuck onto the car to make it look more attractive. This should be done by an adult, as I remember these stickers to be quite difficult to use due to their over stickiness. The stickers are not to the best of standards in terms of material used and I found that one or two of the stickers got slightly torn.
There are four black plastic wheels on this car. They are operated by metal levers which are controlled by the steering wheel. When your child sits in the car, her feet will be on the floor. It is with her feet that she will make his car move. (Just like the Flinstone's car!)
I paid £30 for my Little Tikes Princess cozy coupe. Which I did think was rather a good price for such a large toy. I knew how much my daughter loved this car, so I was well aware, when purchasing this car that it would be well used. It does take a little time to essemble this car, but my husband did it in a matter of minutes. With the minimal of fuss.
My daughter used this car for a few years. She would zoom around the garden. Using this car as a police car or a car to take her shopping. It allowed her to use her imagination. I found that it not only promoted her role play skills and communication. It also helped to encourage her coordination and sense of space. As she would park this car by the side of the shed in a way that would make the Stig jealous.
This car really withheld a great many bumps and scrapes. It is tough and super durable. It's colour did lose it's vibrancy over time. But the actual body of the car continued to look as good as new, dispite years of use.
I certainly think this car is worth the money. It is fun, girly and above all long lasting. It really is a popular toy. Something that all children appear to be drawn to. It has got a rather expensive price tag, considering it hasn't got any sound or light features. But due to it's hard wearing quality, I certainly think this toy is well worth the money.
Once this car had outgrown it's purpose with my daughter, I gave it to my neice and she is still playing with it. So this car has given so much pleasure. This really is a highly adorable cozy coupe. And will have all the other toddlers turning their heads in admiration. Or clinging to the roof with ponytails flapping in the breeze. Screaming for a turn.
The Little Tikes company founded in 1970. Little Tikes headquarters and largest manufacturing facility are located in Hudson, Ohio. The company also has a number of locations outside the United States, including several manufacturing and distribution centers in Europe and Asia.
Little Tikes are well known for providing durable and fun toys like musical things, little houses, swings, climbing equipment and of course the Cozy Coupe which is the most famous ride on toy. It also produces many more.
My daughter first came across the princess cozy coupe when we stayed in a B&B and they had a little girl who had one. She thought it was great and we had trouble getting her out of it when we wanted to go out in the morning.
We then wanted to buy her one as it was summer time so we thought she would get lots of use out of it at this time of year however the price was £60 so I searched car boots but still couldn't find one cheaper. I eventually found one from Tesco Direct in December for £38 so of course I had to buy for Christmas.
The car came in a big box and needed putting together unfortunately Father Christmas must have been disturbed or in a rush because he left the box open, but hadn't put it together so it was a job for daddy.
It wasn't as simple as it looked to put together (these things never are). The wheels had to be fitted to the bottom part and my husband ended up using a hammer to bang them in although the rest of it was straight forward enough and soon sorted. We then had to put the stickers on the sides, front, back and dashboard. The stickers were the lights and some fancy stars and swirls to make it look pretty. The dashboard stickers were the petrol gauge indicator arrows and the speedometre.
To make it look even more lifelike there is a door that opens to get in and out. Next to that is the petrol cap that opens and next to the steering wheel is the ignition key that clicks as it is turned. The horn is a red button in the middle of the steering wheel that squeaks like a babys toy. The car is steered by the child moving their feet on the floor.
The car is made of tough plastic so even if it crashes into walls etc the car stays in good condition. Children like to mimic adults so this is ideal as whether or not you drive yourself children see cars when they are out and about and this one is so girly little princesses will love it.
The car also helps imaginative play as they can take their dolls or teddies for a ride as the little seat is big enough for them and a couple of teddies squashed in. There is a little luggage holder at the back and my daughter likes to put parcels in there and play Postman Pat. The games they can play are endless. Although this is probably an outdoor toy it has mainly been parked in our front room, it does sometimes go to the back room or hall mainly when delivering parcels.
The tough plastic would make it ok to leave outside but the stickers would end up ruined.
This is a toy that was worth the money we paid for it as it creates hours of fun, although it's a shame it wasn't pre assembled.
I bought this in the asda sale for my daughters 2nd birthday and she loves it! We had it made up for her and her presents on the couch for when she came down in the morning but she didnt want to open her presents she wanted to go to the shop in her car. It has a little hole behind the seat to put things in, my daughter uses it for her baby but it isnt very big. The horn squeeks although it is hard to press in. It is very sturdy, even over bumpy grass. We havent got any where to keep it so it stays in the garden then we just wipe it with a tea towel when she wants to play with it. My daughter and her cousin take turns using it, one is inside and the other pushes. Fab car and would defently recommend it, especially someone with two girls or granddaughters to share it.
My wife and I bought one of our granddaughter this little toy last year for her 2nd birthday and she absolutely loves it to bits, she plays with it all the time, and although it is supposed to be for outdoor use she uses indoors too at times as her parents have a large lounge.
It is made of very sturdy plastic and is very colourful and a nice pink colour for a little girl and it really does make the child look like a princess when they are sat inside looking very happy and content.
It has small wheels for easy turning and a steering wheel inside to make them feel all grown up, and it has a nice little door to easily get into the vehicle with a nice seat for the child to sit onto and ride with their feet at the bottom to push themselves along.
It is very safe and durable and it is a way of learning children how to share toys as all the children love to have a turn and they can take turns to have a ride.
Although my granddaughter would not get out of it when she first had a try but after awhile she just allowed the other kiddies to have a go, she was just so excited when she first saw it as she had been using one at a playgroup she attends.
We bought this toy from Toys R Us for only £39.99 and it was reduced at the time and I think the original price was around £59.99.
It is in a perfect colour for a little princess and it can be guided by an adult from the back if needed, but children being children they tend to want to ride it all by themselves as they like to be independent.
It can easily be stored in a garage or shed and can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.
A fabulous little outdoor toy for any child to have fun with for many years.
I recommend this to any parent or grandparent to buy for a small child to have lots of fun with their friends and family or just for themselves.
I rate it 5 stars.
As soon as Scarlet started Playgroup she couldn't wait to get into the Little Tykes Coupe Car and start running people over (she has a serious habit of running into my legs). She even started to eat her toast in it when it was toast and juice time. At the time she started to love them I knew we just couldn't afford one. To make matters worse Mr Kimbles's mother bought one to keep at her house so Scarlet would scream when we were leaving. I was absolutely furious that she was using this to make Scarlet cry when leaving her 'Nanny'.
I had decided by the 1st of December that we would need to get her one for Christmas so she would have one to come home to when were at her 'Nannies' house so it wouldn't be so hard to get her to leave. Just as I was about to order one off the Asda website Mr Kimbles's mother informed me that she had ordered one already for her. Fine I thought if she wants to play games and spend her money then I would let her carry on.
What Scarlet actually had was the Pink Little Tykes Princess Coupe Car. It is exactly the same as the original Red and Yellow Coupe Car but just in Pink with girly stickers on. Little Tykes is a very well known brand of Children's toys that produce lovely, well made, sturdy learning and outside toys. Scarlet already has quite a few Little Tykes toys so I knew that this one would last for ages and be loved by Scarlet until she can no longer fit in it.
The Coupe Car is about half a metre long and quarter of a metre high. It is a sit in car with the door on the left for your monkey to climb in. Inside then is the steering wheel, horn and a key so your child can start driving. The wheels are quite big and thick so you know that they will be sturdy. The front wheels also move along with the steering wheel so the car can be turned whilst driving. Little Tykes advise the age range from 18 months plus.
Scarlet's face when she pulled the wrapping paper off was funny; it was like she couldn't believe what was right in front of her. She hadn't even got dressed and she was rolling around in her new car running over everything she could find. However, she was running things over backwards because that is the only way she knows how to go at the moment. She hasn't quite mastered forwards.
The Coupe car seat is very spacious for your monkey as well as both Scarlet and her cousin were sat in at one stage on Christmas night. But this can be a disaster as Scarlet has fallen through between the seat and steering wheel and got stuck twice. Otherwise this is a fantastic little car which is still in the house until the warmer weather so she can go in the garden in it.
You can pick this item up for £44.99 in Asda and I would recommend one for all your little monkeys.
