“ Brand: Little Tikes / Type: Toy Ride-ons „
*** Please note this is a toy I own and still have as of November 2012. I have numerous photos of my little boy playing with it so if you wish to see one please e-mail me and I will send you one *** My little boy received this toy from his Grandparents during the summer. He was approximately nine months old when he received it and at this point he was not walking but was standing up and cruising and holding onto things and was able when he got it to hold onto the handlebars and push this and also was able to get onto the seat of this quad bike himself as it has quite a low seat base and is also very chunky and sturdy so we perfect for him. The Early Learning Centre recommend this toy from 18 months, probably because at this age little kids will be able to move their feet and make the bike move itself but I think my son has got a lot of enjoyment out of it up until now by being able to push it around and also asking for us to push him on it too, its backbreaking for us but he loves it. This is a perfect boys toy although as soon as my son got in my three year old daughter loved it too and it was perfect for her to get on and move herself with her feet so we have had numerous fights over this bike. I would say this is a great toy for outdoors as its quite big and chunky and a bit too big for indoors. The bike is green and pretty much comes ready assembled as the frame is in one whole piece although you do need to attach the wheels when you first open the box. I will admit, I left this task to my husband but it only took him a few minutes as all you needed to do was to put the wheels and the nuts on with a screwdriver. The bike has four big black chunky wheels so like I've said above it gives it a secure, non wobbly base and we have never had a problem with this bike tipping over. The wheels are quite solid and are waring very well as they are made of quite a tough plastic. They do have scrap marks on them but this is from rolling the bike on the pavement but there is no sign of the plastic waring away or anything like that. The frame is holding up well too, there is not much wear and tear on it although we do keep it in the garage and do not leave it out in the garden overnight just incase it does rain. I can imagine that the colour might fade in the sun too if you leave it out for too long but for us this has not been a problem. The quad bike does look quite realistic and when my little boy sits on it he is able to get on himself as the seat is just moulded into the frame of the bike so no actual awkward seat to set in the way. on each side there are flat bits so a child can rest their feet on these so they do not need to put them on the floor. This is handy for when we are pushing my little boy around as he can put his feet here and they are not in the way. There are two handles either side that are close enough for him to be able to reach and hold onto and so I feel quite secure when we are pushing him around if he is holding on. Obviously, if you child does not have the best of balance you will need to hold them when you are pushing them as it is easy to fall off as this does not have any straps or anything like that. The quad bike came with a pack of stickers for you to stick onto the bike and its pretty obvious where each one goes so they are more to complete the look of the bike and not for customising it or anything like that which you can do with other toys. I am pleased with the stickers as so far they have not peeled off or showed signs of starting to peel away or fade. My little boy and girl really have fun on this bike and its a nice thing to have in the garden during the warmer months. I can see him still being excited to play with it when the summer comes again and I am looking forward to getting it out for him. I note that this bike is now out of stock on the Early LEarning Centre website. This might be due to the fact that they have reduced it from £24.99 to £19.99 although I would definitely be happy to pay £24.99 for it again if it came back in stock. The measurements from the Early Learning Centre website are as given: Size: Length 60cm x Width 29cm x Depth 36cm. Maximum child weight:23kg.
