This was yet another present I bought for my twin boys for Christmas, something not Thomas the Tank for once. I bought it from Home Bargains at the time for just over £7, although you can purchase it on Amazon as I havn't seen it in any other shops.

It comes in a bright purple box with the Shrek bowling Characters on. Inside you get a bowling mat, 6 Shrek Characters which include Shrek himself, Donkey, Fiona, Puss In Boots, Gingy and Pinocchio who are all shaped like bowling pins. You also get a ball which has 3 small holes in, so actually designed just like a real bowling ball. On the mat is 6 small holes or dips should I say for you to place the bowling pin characters into to make a tidy and neat layout of bowling pins. It did say on the box it was for ages 4 plus and it's not suitable for children under 3 years due to small parts, but I don't understand why. There is actually nothing fiddly or small for young children to choke on. My 1 year old twin boys love trying to knock all the characters over with their ball or they just play with them doing their own thing anyway so either way I think it was definitely worth the money.

It says on the box that all the Characters talk to you, which is wrong as it is just Shrek which can talk. He either sings or talks while you are bowling, he tends to say lines from the film shrek itself. Although I don't know any lines. It does require 2 AA batteries though for Shrek to be able to talk. The song Shrek sings is sung to the tune of B-I-N-G-O. I have took the batteries out though as I did find it quite annoying especially with all their other toys singing and chatting like theres no tomorrow (Lol grumps I know)

Overall this toy has been worth the money spent, my boys love playing with the characters whether they are trying to bowl or not, but I do sit there and play bowling with them sometimes. I reccomend this to anybody who is possibly looking for family fun with older children, as they would understand the actual game a bit more. Yes adults and children can make some fun out of this, I am talking from experience (lol)
