WHAT IS IT?

An outdoor game for two people. It comprises two Velcro covered plates and a fluffy tennis ball.

HOW DO YOU PLAY?

Each person has a plate which they attach to their catching hand using the Velcro strap. You take it in turns to throw the ball and their opponent has to catch the ball on the Velcro. You can play it as a gentle game of catch or a rougher game for adults or older children.

IS IT ANY GOOD?

The game is fun for short periods of time, for young children it encourages them to exercise and the few rules can be easily adapted for different aged players. The official age for this Mookie is 3 years and above and that's fine as any younger and children can't hold the Velcro mitts, there's no upper age limit with my 63 year old godmother giving a 64 year old friend a game during last months warm weather.

The mitts are good quality, this is our third Mookie set in about 6 years and the design has not changed at all. The Velcro starts falling away eventually and that's when we replace ours, I'm always careful not to lose the ball that came with the set as regular tennis balls don't stick as well to the Velcro which is frustrating for the children. The velcro doesn't lose it's stickiness even after hours of play, during the summer it's used very regularly by my children and their friends and always stays in good condition until age makes it fail.
