Advantages: fun, cute, entertaining

Disadvantages: none

These little trikes are ideal for young children and also great if you don't have much room as they are only small so are easy to store.

They have three wheels which can be folded inwards so that when your little one has finished playing with this you can store it easily. The trike itself is designed to look a bit like an insect. You can buy them in different colours with different themes; a red one to look like a lady bird, this blue one which looks like a dragonfly etc. This adds a bit of character to them and makes them really interesting and appealing to young children. They come with eyes and a mouth stuck to the front, you don't have to put the stickers on yourself which is good.

When you get this out of the box you don't have to mess around with setting it up. Instead you just unsnap the wheels from the base and it's ready to go! This is great because often with children's toys you have to spend quite a while setting it up and struggling to understand instructions whilst your child is impatiently waiting to play!

The seat of this is very narrow compared to most trikes and at first i was concerned that my daughter would fall off it but actually the narrowness of the seat makes it easier for them to push themselves along. Their feet are able to reach the floor and have better control as they don't have a huge wide seat between their legs which gets in the way. The wheels are only small and the legs splayed at an angle which makes this structurally sound. It may look a bit flimsy and it is very light but this makes it faster and easier for your child to move along which gives them a lot more enjoyment. It is very close to the ground so that if any accidents do happen your child hasn't got far to fall.

My daughter has fallen off this a couple of times but never done any damage because it's so close to the ground and, lets face it, what toddler doesn't take a tumble now and again? It is teaching her to keep her balance and how to navigate around angles. It's fascinating to see as at first she would struggle to steer it and now in the matter of months she is able to scoot around the house and navigate around without a problem at all!

This trike can be used inside and outside and because it is plastic and metal it's easy to wipe clean so if you bring it in from the garden a quick wipe of the wheels should make it clean enough to go inside your house again.

It is very light which is great as you cn easily move it and my daughter likes to pick it up and take it places herself. It is very practical that's for sure.

It's aimed at children around 24 months and I think that's a very suitable age for them. Because it is a push along trike it's a great step up from the ride ons that babies use and a step behind their first little bike with pedals. I am really pleased with this and my daughter loves it, she will happily sit on this for hours and scoot around the house and garden looking very proud of herself!

It costs about £25 and you can buy it from Amazon and John Lewis.
