Like all young children my 3 love to explore and play and they decided they loved the thought of camping out. While visiting a friend they found a tunnel with a tent attached and spent the whole time we were visiting inside this one toy so when we got home I decided this would be perfect for a Christmas present for them. So using some amazon vouchers I managed to purchase this lovely little set for £40 from amazon
The set comes in 3 parts a tent, playhouse and a tunnel that connects them. There bright primary colours which are very attractive and eye catching and are unisex colours. All 3 are made of really strong touch material and have wires which form the shapes of each part hidden and is in now way going to hurt or scratch your child while they are playing. At the same time no matter how many times it is packed away put back up climbed on twisted up in a big heap they always pop back in to there correct shape.
All 3 parts stand alone and can be used together so if there is not much space it is still able to be used. Each part connects easily together by mesh attachments and holds sturdy but it is now impossible for little ones to detach them.In fact the side with the tent is a little more difficult to attach than the play house side and often does slip undone. The One side of the set the tent shaped room has no widows and has an opening just like a bigger tent would. The tunnel also has no window but that part of the se is considerably light even with no windows the material lest light through naturally as I was a little worried my little girl would be afraid of the darkness.
The other side of the tunnel is the play house side. This is my children's favourite part. It has a window and a door window. When closed the door acts as a window but it is also an exit. They spend hours playing house in this side of the play set and this is the one that gets used the most I would say. One of the best features I found with this set is how easy it is to put away. I was a little worried it would take up too much room but when the children are done it simply dismantles from each other and then folds down where it can then be stored in its bag in my out house takes all of 5 minutes to take it back down. It comes with an easy to use carry bag which it all fits back into perfect.
We have had a lot of use out of our set and my children have used it as a house a ship a train all sorts its a perfect start for children to let their imagination run wild. I would recommend this to anyone looking for outdoor or and indoor adventure for your children as it works well in and out doors. My 2 children use it at the same time and as long as they do not try to go through the tunnel at the same time find they have enough room but I think 2 children using it at a time is just right as when my youngest gets older I do think it will be a push for all 3 of them to use the same tent playhouse at the same time.
My children got this play tent from their grandparents a few months ago as they were obsessed with the idea of camping. It is a great combination of tents, a large one, a small square one and a connecting tunnel. Each piece can be used at part of a set or separately.
The tents are brightly coloured in reds, yellows and blues, the smaller one has see through plastic windows and they have velcro fastened openings which also double up as extra windows. The openings can be rolled up and attached at the top with some vecro loops.
The dimensions for the tents are 39x130x39 inches.
They are very easy to set up, simply unfold and the tent will pop open. It is a bit trickier to put it away. You need to twist each piece into a figure of 8 shape and then fold flat, if you don't keep a tight hold on it it will pop open! There is an instruction manual and it does state that it will usually take a few attempts to get it right. The tents also come with a handy bag for storing them away. Once folded down they take up barely any room.
The material of the tents is wipe clean and they do keep their shape well. They are very lightweight so it is advisable not to use them outside if it is windy as we have had to chase all 3 pieces around the garden!
The only problem I can think of with the tents is with the tunnel. It only fastens onto the big tent not the smaller one so it does tend to come out of place quite often. Also, it is quite narrow for a childs play tunnel, the child really does have to crawl on their tummy to get through. It would have been better if it was big enough to get through on their hands and knees instead.
The beauty of these tents is that they can be used inside and out, they are very hard wearing, nothing alters the shape no matter how squashed it gets and also you can use all or just one of the tents depending on how much room you have.
My kids have had a lot of fun in the tents, even my husband has been known to get in there with them, they were a great gift. They are good for adventure play.
