I purchased a T.P double frame and swing deck when my son was 3.I wanted an outdoor toy, which would be weather proof, safe and last. This product has not disappointed. What you get for your money ************************************ T.P have been making outdoor children?s toys for over 40 years and have built up a good reputation for providing a quality product. The double swing frame is basically a large A frame, measuring 290 cm x 254 cmx 228 cm, with attachments for 2 swings.T.P make several different swings to fit the frame including very imaginative double swings as well as the more conventional single swings. We chose a double swing boat, which cost around £70 as well as a much cheaper basic single swing for around £20. The swing boat can either accommodate 2 children or a child and adult. I can often be found in the garden on this swing with one of my children on a summer evening complete with a glass of wine! The swing boat has attachments for a baby safety harness, which you would need to purchase separately. The basic frame is made of galvanised steel and has a lifetime guarantee against rust. All nuts and bolts are covered so there is nothing protruding to hurt your child as they play. We looked at several different makes of frames and thought T.P was a far superior product. We paid £95 for the basic frame from John Lewis. I purchased from this retailer, as they will price match, offer free delivery and have a really good after sales service. It is possible to add an extension arm to the frame to which you can add a baby swing. The frame will also take a basketball net (, although we felt this attachment would only be suitable for a child up to about 5 due to it?s low height). The swing deck ******************* The swing deck compromises a ladder and a platform which bolts onto the swing frame to provide more play opportunities for your children. We chose to add a T.P, 3 metre slide attachment to the pl
atform .At a cost of £80 this was not an inexpensive purchase, but one which has had a lot of use by my children and visitors alike. It is possible to purchase a toddler kit for the slide, which consists of handrails at the top of the slide and an extra platform between the ladder and the slide. For the summer we treated our children to a water slide attachment. This is a strong length of plastic which is added to the slide and with a hose pipe to provide constant water flow down the slide gives hours of wet fun! I would sound a note of caution here though. It is possible to slide off the plastic and receive a nasty graze from the grass, as my son knows only too well! In addition we also purchased a tent to add to the platform. This has given hours of imaginary play. The tent is well made of very heavy duty plastic and last summer I counted 6, sturdy 5 year olds in it! T.P say that the tent will hold 10 children! I am not brave enough to invite that many! At a cost of £30 the tent is not cheap, but I would highly recommend it. I should add that it is very easy to clean and we have left ours out all year round with no ill effect. I can?t wait until the summer to use this again! The pros * ********** As you have probably guessed I am delighted with our swing frame. The frame and swing deck was delivered in numerous boxes and required self assembly .The instructions provided were clear and easy to follow. However my husband was convinced there was a piece missing and telephoned the given T.P help line. They were really helpful and talked him through the problem! They even phoned us the next day to check that we had no further problems! That?s what I call good customer service! We have now had our T.P frame for 3 years and have nothing but praise for it. There is no sign of rust or any wear. It is a very popular toy and has provided many children with hours of play. I like the way you can add to this toy according to your child?s deve
lopment and your budget. ?And the cons ********************** This is not a small toy and takes up a lot of space in a garden. T.P do however make climbing frames for smaller gardens This particular combination does not give children much climbing opportunity.T.P make 3 different type of climbing frames that can also be added to and I would advise you to look at all the options before making your choice. The verdict ****************** I like my children to be as active as possible and this toy certainly encourages that. It is great for imaginative play, and can be played with by children of different age groups. I have removed the bottom rung of the ladder to stop my 2 year old from climbing up without my knowledge! I have no hesitation in recommending this product! If you would further information, or would like to know about other toys made by T.P then I suggest you telephone the company on 01299-872800 and ask for a catalogue. Have fun!

We bought this set for my eldest sons third birthday as he has always loved playing in the garden and knowing there would be his little brother and new baby to grow up and be able to play with it too we were determined to buy a decent one that would last. It is of a steel construction frame treated 3 times over to protect it and with a lifetime gurantee against rust it really built to last...there were different options as to what you could get fitted to it but we chose 2 single swings and a "rockaboat" which is suitable from 9 months as you can buy harnesses to make it safer for the smaller ones...it also has a small climbing frame part which has the slide attached to it, the slide being of extra strong plastic and 6ft long, again multiple choice of sizes. In the catalogue it shows you in great detail what you can and cant have for the different frames and although expensive for a full set it is really worth it as I'm sure its built to last, well a lifetime really. Plus it has given my boys endless pleasure, it has even resisted our labradors attempt at chewing! :) The web address for the site is WWW.TPTOYS.CO.UK but I dont think you can order off this site, you couldnt 6 months ago anyway, but there is a list of stockists and phone numbers and a catalogue order point which in a way is great as theres no hassle if your choosing from a catalogue. As for choice of "toy" it really is upto you and which would work best for your family, theres some suitable for say if you only have one child and others suitable for 5 kids so theres plenty choice, all I know is for our family with what will be 3 children the "swingdeck" was ideal for us and if you put the price in perspective with what all the new computers are costing and the life span of the product this really isnt that bad, its definitely worth it when you see how much fun it is.
