Advantages: lots of fun and good exercise.
Disadvantages: Breakable plastic globe on front, wings open too much for little legs - no customer service
The mini Vtriker is designed for children 3 - 6. We bought this with the large one second hand, and it is a bit too big for our 2 year old, so we have had to wire the two wings together and let him use at as an ordinary scooter. This model has been tried out correctly though by our four year old neighbour, my 5 year old son and even the 18 year old neighbour, who did find the handle bars too low.
The Vtriker is a new type of scooter. It can be pushed like a traditional scooter to build up speed, or it can be used standing on both wings and using a twisting side to side motion that exercises the whole body. They Are quite the rage at the moment, and the whole neighbourhood will come out to play when these are out.
This Vtriker is white with green trim and yellow on the footpads. It has a plastic circle in the middle with a picture of a cartoon character on a scooter. I do feel it would have been better to leave this off, as it is not as sturdy as the rest of the trike and ours is cracked, but it isn't needed for anything other than decoration so this does not affect the use of the scooter at all. Other than that this appears quite sturdy and difficult to break, and we did in fact have much larger children on it than it was meant for.
It also has light up led wheels which the children love and I believe are unique to this brand of scooter. It also has hand brakes.
There is one flaw though, and that is that the wings open up farther for this model than they do for the larger vtriker which made it a bit harder for the four year old to use at first. he did get the hang of it quickly and my five year old had no problems.
My son is delighted by this, even though he can not use it correctly, and as I got a deal on the two together I am happy enough with it. I would give this one 4 1/2 stars if that were possible because of the fact that the wings appear to be designed for somone with longer legs than the target age range. It is a very nice scooter and will certainly make any child happy, but as teh larger model will not be outgrown in a short while, and does not have the plastic globe which is prone to cracking I feel it is a better buy overall for most people. Still this will suit those with the smallest children better because of height, and it is a very nice toy so I am rounding up to 5 stars.
I have since found out this company will not reply to consumer emails and you can not buy replacement parts anywhere. Should a small part be damaged or wear out, you must buy a whole new scooter. I have removed one star for this reason.
Summary: Overall still a good toy that children will love, and a fad I think will last.
