The V Triker is designed for 7- 14 year olds but my 5 year old can use it with no problems, as can our 18 year old neighbour who still has one of these. Many of the teenagers about here use these so I do feel they are appropriate for older children as well. So basically I would recommend this toy from ages 4 - 50. I do not think a child under four would be able to use this very well. The Vtriker is of course a current fad and all the children seem to love them. They can be pushed like an ordinary scooter to build up more speed, or it can be used by just standing on it and using a side to side motion. This is meant to work your whole body and be great exercise. It does have hand brakes as well, which are very useful as the children do get up some speed on these, especially downhill. Our Vtrikers were bough second hand, but this toy appears very sturdy and well made. The full sized one is silver with black trim and yellow on the footpads. My sons favourite part is that the front wheel has built in LED lights. the lights flash colours when the wheel moves. My son says "these bikes are really good, the front wheel lights up and it is fast". It has definitely made a huge it in our house and my son is absolutely overjoyed with it. i also like the fact that this encourages him to spend time outdoors getting plenty of exercise. UPDATE I have updated this after the thing fell apart with my child on it. The part that holds everything together cracked, resulting in minor injuries. I know these things happen, and i bought this second hand so am not asking the company to repair it, but I wish they would sell a replacement part. They will not even reply to requests to buy one. I have emailed 3 x but no answer. I did eventually ring the company and was told these did frequently break st this juncture, and this was usually caused by children riding this over bumps or kerbs. Although the overall construction appears sturdy, there is a flaw in plastic section that holds this whole unit together. The company does not sell replacement parts though, but they will replace it if yours breaks before the scooter is one year old. As to injuries, they seem very unconcerned - basically that injuries are to be expected with this type of toy. Knowing that other scooter have broken, resulting in other children being hurt, and the fact that the company does not feel this is an issue they need to address brings this down to 1 star in my book.
