We have got a lovely wendy house from the argos for £249.99
I wanted a tree house but the hubby wouldnt let me.
Our wendy house is a one story little house which is made of wood. It is painted yellow, the window frames are blue and so are the little plant boxes under the windows which i have put little plastic plants in, the roof is also painted blue.
It has a little door on the front, with a window either side of the door and a window on each side that opens out wards with the old fashioned metal window openers.
It came with nothing inside so i have put a carpet in there and a table and chairs.
The girls spend hours playing in there, they take there dolls out there and have tea partys in there, it is there very own little house.
I keep saying little house as it is smaller than mine but it is about 6 foot wide by about 4 foot deep by 5 foot high so it realy isnt that little after all.
For my little girls fourth birthday we bought her a little tikes cottage. It turns out to be one of my best buys as she loves it.Inside it has a cooker and play sink with a push button phone that slots into the wall. The house is yellow with a pink door which is easy to open and shut. All windows are easy to open and are light green in colour. The roof is blue and the whole house is sturdy and weather proof. It is a little girls dream and should last for years. The recommended age is 4 to 6 years.I would recommend this product as it is a very good buy.The quality is of high standard.
When our first child was one he was bought a feber house for a xmas gift. It is like the plastic you would expect of a little tykes outdoor toy and just as good. It has two windows, one on each side and a door at the front with a key and a letter box. And two small plastic fences either side of the door (attached) inside there is a table with a mirror and a phone and it is a nice size. Big enough for you to add a table and chairs or store toys in the winter when playing in the garden is not always allowed. My son is now nearly four years old and my daughter has since come along and now 17 months old she loves it. It is big enough for both if not more as all of their friends go mad over it when they come to play and it looks like it will last forever. I am not sure of the cost as it was a gift but I would recommend it to anyone.
We decided that it might be a good idea to buy our daughter a wendy house as it would get her out of the house and into the garden a bit more plus with the added bonus of getting rid of some of her toys out of the house and putting them in there for her. We did start to look at Toys R Us at the plastic ones but they seemed quite expensive for something quite small (for example little tykes country cottage costs £200). We then though it would be a good idea to have a look at wooden ones. These seem much better value for money as they are alot bigger so you get more for your money. We first looked at B&Q and they had one that was £149 which seemed a very good price. On closer inspection though it wasn't such a great deal as the floor and roof were actually made from chipboard so it probably wouldn't last that long. Our next stop was a shed manufactor called Southern Sheds. We managed to find a wendy house that is 5' x 5' for £200. This is a very solid and features several saftey features such as special hinges on the door so little finger cant be trapped and all the edges are rounded (neither of these features were on the B&Q one). These wendy houses are made to order so you can choose what side you want the window on or even for a few extra pounds, you could have some extra height added on top. If you are thinking about buying a Wendy house I really would consider a wooden one as they are more spacious, better value for money and will last (if properly made and looked after) for a good 15 years.
