a good shop when bought on sale

Ever since my daughter has been a toddler, she has loved all things to do with shops, so when I spied this Cherry Blossom shop on offer way back last year I knew she had to have it.
The shop itself comes flat packed, so remember this for when setting up for the first time with an excited toddler in tow. Consisting of plastic poles in different lengths and a large brightly coloured plastic cover, I found this wasn't too difficult to put together.
The shop measures approx one metre by half a metre, so do bear this in mind before buying. You need to have somewhere to place this shop, and ideally it needs to be not placed against a wall as one side of the shop is open for the child to play in and the rear consists of a two part stable door that can be opened.

Once put together we realised this is quite a sturdy looking shop. The poles at the front on the floor are exposed which is a shame and I think could contribute to the shop being broken before it's time. It would have been designed slightly better if they had been fed through the cover, but there is no area for this to happen.
The overall design of the shop is nice, and will act as a good play house as well as a shop should imagination require. You just can't completely enclose yourself within the shop which isn't always a bad thing.

The shop itself comes with a till and a place to act as a counter. There are no other additions included in the set, but these can be bought separately should you require. The box shows some of the additions so our daughter did ask where her basket of fruit was when we first opened it.
On the side of the shop there is a little piece of fabric that can be rolled up or down to serve from. Our daughter prefers to sell from the front of the shop, but it goes to show how versatile the shop can be.

When we bought the shop, we managed to buy it on a half price sale so only paid £17 for it rather than the £35 it's recommended at in a lot of shops. I was happy paying the £17 but not sure it's worth the full price.
It does hold a lot of playability for my daughter and she has been able to expand her shop toys and create a larger store for herself, but I think the fact that it's made with plastic takes some marks off the durability of the shop.

Overall I think this toy will last for ages. It's recommended for ages 3 and up, but as long as it stays intact then I think it has the potential to last her until she is about seven years old and bores of role play.

A very enjoyable toy for children

I bought the cherry blossom stores play house for my daughter at christmas, when she unwrapped it the look on her face was brilliant as she'd wanted one from the advert on television and insisted we built it immediately.

Building it took about 20 minutes, It was not difficult but with an excited pre-school child wanting to get straight in, it was a lot of fun. When assembled it occupies approximately 19 inches x 37 inches of floor space and stands at 44 inches tall. When built the store has no back so is usually played with against a wall.

It comes with a split door that opens in two halves top and bottom and a built in shelf where the shop till stands on, this also comes with it. The store is also supplied with a yellow shopping bag and a postcard display area where your child can fill with the supplied postcards, each has a picture on it corresponding to the display area. The door comes with a letter box where your child can post letters / postcards through.

This toy has produced hours of fun for my daughter and all the family have been customers at some point. There are optional extra's including a vegetable stall and a post office / post box.

The store itself costs around £50 but can be found at about £45 from some retailers. Overall a very good present that develops imagination through role play.
