Advantages: Sturdy, accomodates speakers too, storage underneath

Disadvantages: Maybe too small for some monitor bases?

This stand is a godsend. My desk was cluttered with techy stuff and I was desperate to tidy it all up somehow.

The stand is pretty sturdy - it's a dark gray plastic, but doesn't look cheap at all. It has a raised shelf for your monitor, and two wing-like shelves which I use for my speakers. I think the recommended maximum size for a monitor to fit on this stand is 21" - I have a 20" iMac and it fits perfectly.

Because it has these raised shelves, you can put a lot of stuff underneath it. I'm now able to put my modem, router and hard drives under it and out of the way - freeing up more space on my desk. Instead of a space saving item, I suppose you could use it to raise your monitor if you wanted to, if it's current position is too low for you to look at comfortably.

If you are thinking about buying this, please double check the dimensions - it's bigger than you expect. I've also read that the base of some monitors is too big for the shelf, so just make sure everything will fit.
