Remoska Mini Electric Oven ... am easily led. A discussion on a baking and foodie forum led to the purchase of one of these. How can a forum evoke such a purchase ? Because these aren t cheap. Well here s the justification. Electricity bill last Summer the please pay was three figures that I m lucky to see on my payslip! I received an energy monitor and became totally anal about what was using what. The biggest culprit ? The fan oven. The amount of kilowatts being used resembled the three figures on the bill. Read a few reviews, found some blogs, saw some amazing food. The selling point was the saving on electric for me. It s a 650w mini oven. That s at least half of my fan oven. Off to Lakeland... Hotpoint EW62N ... bought one of these to replace a much older cooker unit recently, and what attracted me initially was the ceramic hobs. For those who may not be familiar, these types of oven have a completely flat top which looks like black glass, and the heating elements are underneath the glass. Obviously this makes keeping the hobs clean much easier - and they look quite nifty too. One thing to beware is the temptation to use the flat surface to put things on - don t do it! Hotpoint have always been a good make for ovens, and this model is no exception or let-down. Miele H 4431 BP KAT ... is overall a very good oven. It is extremely fast to heat up, around 5 minutes to reach 180˚C so there s no need to wait before putting food into it (except for baking as the manual explains). The racks and slides are well made and there is a range of accessories that can be bought such as a telescopic rack. I have used the telescopic rack in another model, and I must say that I couldn t get on with it as it was more of a hindrance. It also has to be removed during a pyrolytic clean.
