An Aga does cost a lot of money... 5-7 thousand pounds. Having said this these last for a lifetime. The way it works is that natural gas/propane heats up large cylinders on the top and ovens in the bottom. These are at different temperatures for your different cooking needs. Lucky old me has moved house & inherited a beautiful bright red AGA. It stands majestically in the corner of the kitchen and the colour alone warms the cockles of your heart not to mention the actual warmth radiating everywhere.
