... this product almost a year ago, and paid £700. The quality of cooking is brilliant, I cannot fault it. But the problem seems to be the knob placements, which are at 45deg angle, rather than the conventional 90deg. Although it makes it easier to view, cooking fat seems to accumulate easier all around it. I have had a few oil spillages (though I m a very clean cook), and it has taken the markings off 3 knobs. Hotpoint BU72 ... Service charged me a £110 to fix one nut in my Hotpoint oven when the repair engineer took 20 minutes in the house. They gave me the figure before the work was carried out and claimed that no other service man could carry out such a repair. I felt to obtain a working oven which was making an atrocious noise and sparking I had no alternative but to accept the £110 charge. BEWARE of being put in this situation. The service centre was very unhelpful and they put me through to five different telephone operatives before cutting me off, when I tried to contact them by telephone The centre will not justify their prices or give any explanation of how they can c... Indesit FI DM 20 IX ... selected this oven mainly because of the size of the main oven which is much larger than its competitors you really do get a very large oven indeed. We have had it in operation for about 1 month now and have found it to be a little disappointing in that it just doesn t seem to get hot enough we have to add about 20% to cooking tempreatures to match the cooking times given in the manual. The choice of full or half grill is a useful feature and when the main oven is in use you can warm plates in the top oven as it gets quite warm,it is slightly disconcerting when the fan keeps running after switch off in order to cool down the oven. Miele H 4431 BP KAT ... is overall a very good oven. It is extremely fast to heat up, around 5 minutes to reach 180˚C so there s no need to wait before putting food into it (except for baking as the manual explains). The racks and slides are well made and there is a range of accessories that can be bought such as a telescopic rack. I have used the telescopic rack in another model, and I must say that I couldn t get on with it as it was more of a hindrance. It also has to be removed during a pyrolytic clean.
