Great results, not so great practicality (Electrolux EKC6046)

Advantages: Self Clean interior

Disadvantages: Knob placement, short lead

Bought this product almost a year ago, and paid £700. The quality of cooking is brilliant, I cannot fault it. But the problem seems to be the knob placements, which are at 45deg angle, rather than the conventional 90deg. Although it makes it easier to view, cooking fat seems to accumulate easier all around it. I have had a few oil spillages (though I'm a very clean cook), and it has taken the markings off 3 knobs. So, I can virtually not know what I'm doing with the oven - whether it's on grill or fan! The markings for the burner have disappeared, so I have to turn the knob and wait for the burner to go red, before I am sure that I've turned the right knob on!
The other problem is the current lead that comes with the oven is way too short. I am unable to pull the oven all the way out for cleaning behind because of the short lead.

Overall, it feels like a man's design, without a woman's consultation!
Excellent cooking results - pathetic practicality in design.

I have given it a 4 star rating because ultimately my cakes, cookies, pizzas come out delicious.

PS: Remember to keep your manual safe, so you can correlate the drawings to the burnt markings.

Summary: I would buy this product again, if the knobs were placed at right angles to the cooking surface
