... Service charged me a £110 to fix one nut in my Hotpoint oven when the repair engineer took 20 minutes in the house. They gave me the figure before the work was carried out and claimed that no other service man could carry out such a repair. Hotpoint EW62N ... what attracted me initially was the ceramic hobs. For those who may not be familiar, these types of oven have a completely flat top which looks like black glass, and the heating elements are underneath the glass. Obviously this makes keeping the hobs clean much easier - and they look quite nifty too. One thing to beware is the temptation to use the flat surface to put things on - don t do it! Hotpoint have always been a good make for ovens, and this model is no exception or let-down. The hobs work well, and the double oven feature is brilliant, not only saving electricity as the area heated is much smaller, but also allowing you do actually cook different items at dif... Hotpoint SY36 ... we would buy. We felt we had a choice, either get something very cheap and as basic as we had previously, or spend a bit more and get something a little better. After a lot of time thinking and discussing, we decided to go for something a little better than we originally had as we felt as we both love cooking we would benefit from a decent oven. After much looking around we decided upon the Hotpoint SY36W (the W just denotes the colour, you can also get it in black and brown I believe, ours is white). We went for this as it had a good amount of room inside, came with two shelves and a grill pan (unlike so many ovens which only come with one shelf!) It features a fan... Hotpoint BD32 ... at least 6 hours. So not willing to waste any more time on an oven that was burning things and dropping to bits ( the grill heat bars were held up with metal s bands over the stay clean sides) I decided to say to hell with it and get a new oven. My reasoning was that ovens today aren t meant to last 30 years and still be better than the modern ones as my mum said at the time.
