When we installed our new kitchen and were looking for ovens and hobs for it I knew the main thing that I had to have in an oven was that it needed to be double as with experience having a single oven just wasn’t enough for my house.
We finally chose this Indesit oven for a variety of different reasons but one of the main ones was price vs quality. I wanted an oven from a reputable manufacturer but it couldn’t cost the earth. Unfortunately for us decent double ovens aren’t cheap and a lot of them were around the 1000 mark which was just far too much for our budget.
This one ended up costing us 400 which was still more than we really wanted to spend but it looked good with all the features that we wanted and was one of the cheaper ones from a major brand that we knew and trusted.
When the oven is installed it sits flush with the kitchen cabinets and I think it looks fab in my kitchen. The stainless steel and glass give it a really modern and sleek look which works well in our modern kitchen. The only thing that I can criticise with the design of this oven is that it is a finger print magnet and needs cleaning and buffing all the time which is a pain but a small price to pay to keep it looking so good.
The two oven give a combined cooking space of 86 litres which in real terms just means that there is plenty of room between them to cook everything that you want.
I absolutely love having the two ovens and wouldn’t go back to having just a single one as I just don’t think that it is enough. Of course for most things the one oven is all that is needed but I love having the extra oven just in case I need it. I use it a lot when roasting something in the main oven by roasting potatoes and veg in the smaller one.
Cooking with the fan oven has been a revelation for me as things cook so fast in it. In fact it cooks so quickly that when I first got it I managed to burn a few things but I soon got used to it and adjusted my cooking times.
Features include a timer that can be programmed for cooking things in advance so that you can set it to cook your dinner while you are out. There is also a slow cook function as well as a defrost one. Again these I don’t really use as I only really use it to cook and for that it is fabulous. I love having the extra space as well as the speed of the fan oven on bottom. The smaller conventional oven is great for home baking but the fan oven is better for convenience and the one that I use the most often.
