I have been having the most awful pain in my right shoulder now for abut three weeks and have been to see my doctor about it twice. He tells me it's frozen shoulder and has recommended I take standard pain relief medication and to go back in a couple of weeks. I discovered Advil tablets at my local Home Bargains store and I haven't looked back since I started to take them. The relief is s much quicker than my usual ibuprofen tablets I take though I have clue as to why these would work better for me than any other pain relief. I take two of these and I can honestly say that they work before the twenty minute mark is up. They are an anti-inflammatory tablets so not advised for anyone with stomach conditions such as ulcers, etc. I simple swallow two (they aren't too big and are sugar coated) with half a glass of water and wait for the pain to subside.
Recently I had oral surgery and was in quite a bit of discomfort, but yet not enough to take the prescribed pain meds. So I sent my dear hubby to the store to pick up some Advil for me as that is what they said I could take in place of the pain meds. So off he went grumbling under his breath the whole way. What can I say I am a demanding person when I am sick or in discomfort. He unfortunately has to wait on me hand and foot during those times. Thank goodness they don't seem to come around often.
So as I said before I was in discomfort and really just needed something to take the edge off. So I choose to just buy the brand named Advil. I am sure that the off brand would have worked just as well, but when it comes to pain relief I choose to stick with trusted and true. So he bought the 12 pack for me figuring that would be all that I would need. As my husband never saves a receipt I can not attest to how much these cost.
Now the question would be did they work for me? I would have to say that yes they did work they took the edge off and made me a much happier person to be around as I was no longer biting off every ones head because of the pain I was in. As I read the label I was shocked to see that they had as well as the general pain reliever properties there were also fever reducer and anti-inflammatory properties. Just what I needed since the surgery site had started to swell a bit and there was a fair amount of pain. So I took 2 pills and lay back on the couch to wait for them to take effect.
So how long did it take? Well after about 15 minutes I noticed a wave of relief that seemed to settle in as the time wore on. After about 30 minutes I was no longer in pain and able to hold a conversation and do a few things that before taking this medication the pain was too much and just enough to make you crazy and unable to think to function. As for the swelling I had also noticed that it has started to go down as well. I did not have a fever so I can not attest to its fever reducing abilities.
I would have to say that I was utterly impressed with this product. It did what it said it would do and fast. I enjoyed how quickly it worked that I will only use Advil now. It has become a fixture in my medicine chest. Great product that I would recommend for those every day aches and pains as well as the ones that are just a little bit more serious but yet not quite enough for something stronger.
Being that we now use this product on a regular basis I have seen that the best time to purchase it is when its on special other wise it can get rather expensive. Even though it may be rather expensive it really does work.
As with all medicine I would recommend reading the label before consuming and if you have any other questions to contact your GP.
Advil is the greatest over the counter pain medicine I have ever taken. I have migraines a lot and I have to keep a really big bottle of these around the house and in my vehicle. You know how most over the pain medications taste horrible if you let them sit in your mouth too long. Well these don't. They have a coating on them that is sweet. It is really nice that they think of the customer and how the medicine tastes before you swallow it. Then not only that this medicine actually works fast. It usually takes into affect in about 10 to 15 minutes when most take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. If you are tired of medicine that tastes horrible before you get it swallowed and you want it to kick in before the others do then you really should try advil because it is great. I just know it really work for all of your minor pains.
I take advil for muscular back pain which I suffer from time to time. I always used advil and it always did the trick. Recently however I was talking to a old friend who is a Doctor and he told me that Advil is exactly the same as ordinary Ibuprofen which can be bought for much cheaper. You are just paying for the name. I tried the regular generic Ibuprofen and found it just as good as before. If you ask me Advil is a rip off.
Advil tablets are for the effective relief of mild to moderate pain including rheumatic and muscular pain, backache, neuralgia, migraine, headache, dental pain, period pains, feverishness and the symptoms of colds and influenza.
