Boots Value Health Paracetamol
Advantages: As good as the more expensive brands
I've reached a bit of a plateau temporarily anyway whilst I don't have much to review, and have seen many people reviewing these tablets recently, so figure I will do the same. I literally used the today so it seems quite apt to be doing this review.
I am sure that all of you know Paracetamol is, but for those few randomers that may not know, well it is a painkilling tablet. They are probably the lightest form of relief that you can buy pretty much anywhere, ranging from pharmacies to supermarkets to local corner shops and newsagents. However I am reviewing a specific brand which is Boots value health paracetamol.
Each tablet is 500mg, which is fairly standard, although the mg can vary. Considering they are a value tablet 500mb is pretty decent I think. You take one or two with water, they don't have a special coating like the more expensive tablets. There really isn't a lot of difference in quality between this and the more expensive tablets, so I am guessing its things like the coating where they save a bit of money.
I find that they work well, and take about thirty minutes to kick in, although sometimes this can be longer. The problem was I went through a phase a few years ago, where I was taking this regularly for headaches, so am slightly immune but they still do work. I find they are better for headaches, than other things like backache and toothache. Personally I am a bigger fan of Ibuprofen as I feel it hits the spot quicker, and is more effective, but everyone will react slightly differently.
The pack I have is a few months old, and I make it last as I don't take them very often, but I went into Boots today and couldn't find this at all on the shelves. There was a different version of just normal paracetamol, and not a value version which still retails at 45p. I asked one of the store assistants who said that they don't produce the value anymore, but not sure how accurate this is, as sometimes these people just tell you the quickest thing so that you leave them along. However from other peoples reviews these cost 16p, and as you get 16 capsules I am sure you can work out that it is a penny each. This is pretty ridiculous value, and the best that I think you can find anywhere in the country, feel free to comment and let me know if you can find somewhere where it works out to cheaper than a penny.
Overall this is a product, I feel everyone needs. You never know when you may get a headache or back pain or somewhere that a painkiller is needed, and this can make the big difference in feeling fighting fit within minutes, or having to sleep the pain away. Due to it being a staple product in my life and that I find it effective along with how cheap it is then I give it five stars.
