ikklejojo Sure Start Program: ... live in Croydon and have tried three of my lost local surestart centres (Chipstead Valley, Purley and Byron), and I intend to visit another one soon. These are government run programmes run by family support officers, that aim to give you somewhere useful for your child to play. My most local centres are excellent, as they run such a variety of drop-in sessions that are free and a great way to meet other mum s in...

jadie890 Teenage Pregancy
... was a teenage mum (I say was because I am now 24!). It wasn t something I had planned to happen but it did. I was 15 years old, a week after my 15th to be precise I caught. I was still in school and loving being in school. I wasn t your stereotypical teenage chav mum, I was in all high sets in school, my estimated GCSE results were B and above. Okay so now and again I did go bunking and yes a group of us used to hang out in the park at nights but I took my school seriously and my aim was too stay in school for sixth form and then move onto Uni! I had boyfriends in the past and although I had done it with them I had never fallen pregnant and if I m honest didn t thin...

However the formula milks which are now on the market are constantly being improved and are of excellent nutritional value too. What concerns me more is the psychological implications of breast feeding. Whilst society today is pushing the Breast is best band wagon. More and more wom...

wisemind Parenting in general
... is the one job when you can within the space of an hour laugh, cry, be proud and frustrated. I always wanted to be a mother but also under the right circumstances and as a result did not become a parent until I was thirty six years old. From the minute I found out I was pregnant it changed my life for the better. I took care of myself knowing that I had a young life inside me and wanted to nurture him. I had struggled with agoraphobia but found carrying a child was the motivation I needed to seriously tackle the problem without getting too scared to hide back in the house. My husband on the other hand was the opposite. He hated the attention been on me and my...
