I first tried this product when my baby was 5 weeks old. All it basically is; is still boiled water with a hint of either forest fruits, orange or mango in it. These are great as you can give them to your baby anytime after 4 weeks old safe in the knowledge that the chance of it upsetting their little tummies is very minimal. ... Read the complete review

I had to wean my son early as he was a very big baby at birth and was always hungray - even on SMA white. only 2 weeks or so early though. I tried him on the tins of baby food but he disliked them and when i tasted them they were a bit like sick!!! lol. they also stained his clothes and have ruined many of his bibs now. We were feeling a little peckish and decided to stop at a wacky warehouse for some lunch. What a bargain is to be had there. We could have lunch two for the price of one, the highest price being the one you pay, we also had the option of letting our daughter play for an hour which cost £2.00 but then we would receive £2.00 off a childrens ... After reading chrissypops opinion on weaning I was determined to give home cooking a try. The first few weeks I stuck to baby rice with breast milk as on the advice of my Health Visitor I started a bit early (at 14 1/2 weeks). Next I tried the baby rice with banana and pear wich she loved so the next logical step was to try my cooking. I am no ... Read the complete review

After wasting lots of money on different baby/toddler drinking gadgets I found the only thing that worked efficiently was the faithful gripper bottle. All I did was used some wide banded elastic and tied it around the bottle top, just under the screw in top. I hang it from one of my dining chairs. Because it is 'top heavy' (ie, the tie ... I love feeding my son food from the HIPP organic range particularly because they are healthy, tasty and they look & smell nice and I don't make my own baby food. I feel like I'm giving him something that's good for him, but the down side is that some of the food is very brighly coloured, particularly the "carrots" & ... Read the complete review

I know Baby rice is supposed to taste bland for when you start to wean your baby but even my daughter (who now eats anything) spat it out! I was lumbered with two packets (a buy one get one free offer I couldn't resist!), so I decided to experiment. I have found that you can use it as a thickener and can be mixed with almost anything (edible!) ... Read the complete review

When I started weaning my first daughter, I tried her with a little puréed fruit like banana, peach and apple. I did a few fruit at a time and froze it in ice cube trays. I would then defrost them over night and give it to her. Its was the right amount at first as she was only taken a little at a time. I then tried her on vegetables. Things like ... When my baby was being weaned I bought the Heinz tins of fruit puree such as summer fruits, apricot, apple etc. However, now she is a lot bigger and her appetite has grown I was not too happy by the large increase in price for purchasing larger jars of desserts. As my baby loves these desserts, I just keep buying the small tins but mix the puree ... Read the complete review

A tip for mum's when they are just starting out feeding there baby, when they are four months old. Buy a blender, they can save alot of money, and help the baby get used to vegetables at an early age. But, most of all you can decide what you give your baby. When my niece was little, we bought one and found a blender a great hep. We could ... Read the complete review

Parents are constantly bombarded with messages telling them that "fresh is best" and indicating that it is only lazy or unthinking parents who do not loving serve up homemade baby foods on a daily basis. Whilst I do regularly make my own baby food for my 6 month old daughter, and also did so for my 2 and 1/2 year old when younger, I ... Read the complete review

I found the Annabel Karmel recipe books for babies and toddlers really useful when weaning my baby at 4 months. I was quite unsure what was safe/unsafe to give her but the book really helped, as it has age guides and menu planners. It does have some quite time consuming recipes but also has quick ideas such as half a mashed banana and advocado ... Read the complete review

If you are fed up of buying expensive jars of baby food for when you're in a rush but don't have time to cook an alternative I have found a simple filling cheaper way of feeding baby. Try buying cans of soups (the normal Heinz variety for adults) If you buy the thick ones like Winter Warmers, you will find that these are the same ... Read the complete review

I have 5 children, and they have all been fed on home made food. I never once bought a jar or a can. The only thing I did ever buy was cereals, and that was only because I could not make it myself. I would always make enough food to freeze some down for another day. Also if you make enough of each meal to freeze you can vary their diet, and ... Read the complete review

If anyone ever asks for my top tips regarding feeding a baby or toddler, it would be "give them pasta". Before I continue, I'm neither Italian nor a pasta lover myself.. this is simply an opinion based on my experience with feeding young children. It seems strange, but if you can get a child to eat pasta, you can ... Read the complete review

Despite trying to persuade my 4 year old son to eat a variety of foods - he really isn't that adventorous - a sort of chips and beans bloke. One thing we stumbled across were McCains Smiley faces. McVities Teletubbies Biscuits are a great snack for toddlers and young children they have just enough biscuits in them to feel up hungry tummies and they are very easy for little hands to hold.
