Advantages: Baby took to it immediately, cured constipation within days
Disadvantages: More expensive than other formula milks
I had suffered with my little boy and his constipation for a couple of months after birth. I decided not to breast feed him and to stick to bottlefeeding, so that my partner could share the feeds :) I found that he appeared to be in distress a lot of the time and gripping his tummy in pain. He would only do a poo once a week (if that) and when he did it was sometimes like a solid golf ball. I felt really bad for him, after all he was only a helpless little bundle! I spoke to my Health Visitor who went through the Orange juice routine and baby massage but eventually I discovered Cow & Gate Omnio Confort for babies who find it hard to digest. It was a miracle for us all! My little boy was so much happier and became regular within days and me and daddy got some good night's sleep. I would definitely recommend it to anyone with a constipated baby. You can buy it from most big supermarkets and chemists, however it is a couple of pounds more expensive than most formula milks, but I found it was well worth it and I used it till he was 10 months old. As requested, in addition to my review Omnio Comfort retails at around £7.24 for a 900g box. I learnt that it was different to other milks because when made up it is a much thicker formula, which also reminds me that you will need a medium or fast flow teet as your baby will become upset when they can't get enough milk from a slow flow teet. It also has something in it (can't say what exactly) that makes babies digest it more easier, lets call it 'magic' :)
Summary: A SAVIOUR!!
