For my own personal reasons which I will not go in to now I decided not to breast feed my babies and decided to use formula milk instead.

Which my first child I used SMA gold baby milk to start with but after about a month I changed this for SMA white baby milk, I did this because my daughter had reflux and meant she could not keep her milk down very well and with SMA white this milk is designed for hungry babies and is a heavier milk so makes baby feel full up for longer, so for my little one the heavier milk and her baby gaviscon to kill the pain her reflux was kept under control so she started to put on weight instead of losing it.

My second child was on SMA Gold to start with and then on to SMA White because she was a very hungry baby and would drink 24/7 if I let her.

My third baby was SMA Gold to start with but after being confirmed as lactose intolerant he went on to SMA lactose free.

I have found baby milk formula great and for me the way I have been have to change the type of milk I have use to fit my babies needs has been great and worked really well for me.

A lot of people do say that baby formula hard work but I am a routine freak so once I had got my self in to routine of making up the bottles I found it easy and didn't really have to think about it.

The SMA milk I have used cost around £7 for a large tin and the SMA lactose free is £8 for a small tin tho I did not have to pay for this as it was put on prescription for my son.

My husband loved the fact that he gave all our three children their first feed, and for me I thought this was a great thing for him to do for his children

I have no problems with people who want to breast feed but it just wasn't for me and I don't think I should be judged for that. (which I think some people tend to do)

So overall if you decide not to breast feed then formula milk is a lot easier than a wet nurse.
