Sleeping bags for babies and young children are a fantastic idea and a great way to keep your little ones safe and snug throughout the night.

Babies in particular are very prone to kicking off the sheets during the night and waking when they are subsequently too cold. In addition there is also the worry of a young baby accidentally pulling the sheets over their heads, over heating or becoming too cold during the night.

Sleeping bags will eliminate all of these issues. They are usually provided with a chart advising which tog (thickness) of sleeping bag to use and what to dress your child in depending on the temperature of the child's room.

0.5 tog sleeping bags are generally used for very hot summer months (24 deg C+) and summer holidays. 1.0 tog sleeping bags are suitable for general summer months and 2.5 tog sleeping bags can be used all year round apart from peak summer.

There are many brands of sleeping bags available. In particular the majority of supermarkets will now offer their own brands.

Personally I use a company call the Dream Bag Company who supply excellent quality sleeping bags in great designs at very reasonable prices. In fact the photograph at the top of this review depicts a Dream Bag Company sleeping bag in "Beep Beep" design.

They have an easy zip fastening around the body, press stud fastening on the shoulders and a strap and press stud underneath each arm hole to ensure that your child does not slip down into the bag. Dream Bag sleeping bags open wide enough to slip your little one into without disturbing them if they have fallen alseep!

Overall I would highly recommend sleeping bags to ensure that your child gets a cosy night's sleep.
