Baby Stages in generalNewest Review: ... is the best year by far. My boy is aged 14 months now, and becoming a real handful. I think the first stage you go through is the first week of being home from hospital. The transition from being just a couple, to having this little bundle to contend with. The first night is terrifing, but it does get better. As you get more confident at what you are doing, you start to enjoy each stage of your babies developement. The second stage for me was when he smiled for the first time which was at around 5 weeks old. Then up until the age of about 3 months old, they don't really do much except sleep alot and eat alot. 4 months to 6 months was a lo... more |

When I had my first baby in 2007 I was worried to death by the prospect of not knowing what the hell to expect in the next year ahead of me. As it turned out I should not have worried as the first year of your babies life is the best year by far. My boy is aged 14 months now, and becoming a real handful. As some of you may have gathered from my previous ops I have 2 girls, Emily is 7 and Ellen is 5, so having come across this category I thought I would share my experiences (or bore you completely) with you with each stage of babyhood. As a first time mum, way back in the mists of time I read every baby book I could get my hands on. This can work either way on one hand it can reassure you and help you to get everything organised ? what you need for the nursery, my baby is now as big as a crushed strawberry, that sort of thing. Or it can make you completely paranoid ? Oh my God the morning sickness should have ... Read the complete review

For the bits they tend to gloss over. Sorry, some bits are a bit icky, but that's life. Hope this category is okay. As a new mum, you will be a bit shellshocked, probably knackered, but there are physical needs that you need to attend to for yourself as well as the baby. Basic requirements Maternity pads Stock up. You may not have had a period for nine months, but you are making up for it now. I found Always Ultra Night Time fantastic. They are very thin with wings, they are soft, even with stitches. Looking at them you wouldn’t think they are up to much, but they will easily last all night and hold gallons(oh yes). When ... Read the complete review

I apologise in advance for this not really being an opinion, nor a piece of writing that actually *goes* anywhere. It's something I wrote a few months back, a week before my second daughter was born, and is more of a reflection of how life changed when my first daughter was born back in November 2000 :) Becoming a parent is like going back to school. No, I?m not talking about the kinky school mistress outfit that you used the night you conceived, I?m talking about a whole new world of learning that comes as part of the responsibility of a new baby Most magazine articles focus on the fun of a new baby. What they don?t explain is that 90% ... Read the complete review

My son is now 2 years and 3 months old, I love him to bits and never stop talking about him to everyone I come into contact with. But when people told me about the terrible 2's , I said "No, not Nathan, he'll never be a terrible 2 year old". How wrong can a person be ? It all started on his 2nd birthday, we had a small family party, the whether was lovely, everyone was enjoying themselves, even Nathan. Then BOOM!!, it was just like someone had flicked a switch inside him and he became this horrible little brat that no one can stand. At first we put it down to over-excitement, but as the day wore on we knew that it was the TT's kicking in. ... Read the complete review
