Advantages: no need to get up, baby dosent need to cry

Disadvantages: less space in your bed, have to be careful

personally speaking learning to lie down and breastfeed was the only thing that helped me to continue breastfeeding through the hardest times. (i can imagine it being especially useful for mums who have had c-sections so the dont have to get up out of bed as often and can get plenty of rest.)

bed-sharing helped this furthur. my baby was right there beside me, i didnt have to get up and fetch him, he didnt have to cry for my attention. we did bed sharing for the first few weeks until breastfeeding and sleep patterns improved.

bed sharing for us promoted frequent feeding and a good breastfeeding relationship. i simply rolled over to him when i heard him stirring and he fed barely waking up and went straight back to sleep. i loved watching him sleep and knew he was safe and well any time of the night.

so long as you follow a the simple rule to prevent accidents from happening i think bed-sharing is a good idea in the early days. make sure you place baby on top of your covers with his own blankets on so there is no risk of your covers being pulled up over him. i have read on many occasions that bedsharing actually helps reduce cot death as mum is close by and aware sooner if something is wrong, and baby dosent sleep so deeply with the slight disturbances by the other bed members.

Summary: can help with successful breastfeeding

I really don't like the idea of bed sharing. My daughter is 11 months, and even now if she falls asleep in our bed, I can't sleep! xx

If you post less reviews (maximum three or four a day) people will probably read them more. Also, for more people to read your reviews, make sure you read and rate lots of others.
