I am a mum .... and I just love it! (Being a Parent)

Advantages: simply everything

When I first found out I was pregnant, I was a deputy head teacher, going for interviews for headships and at my prime careerwise. I thought that being a teacher/ headtecher was who I was... that it defined me. I drove a lovely car, had an immaculate house, all the latest gadgets. We ate regular take aways or meals out .... and so the list goes on.

7 years (and 3 children) later .....

I have an mpv that has probably seen better days, my house has books and toys on every shelf, I have not taught a class of children in a long time, we make every meal from scratch, we keep chickens in the garden and grow our own fruit and veg .... the surplass of which I use to make chutneys, pickles and jams ....

I am the happiest I have ever been!!!!!!!!!!!

Having children completely transformed me, it made me re assess my values, needs and beliefs. Having children has bizarly, defined me and now .. being a mum is who I am.

On my first childs birth certificate it reads my occupation as DH teacher. On my last as a stay at home mum and when we registered her I was asked if I would like my old occupation as, as though i would prefer a proper job title!!!

I am a mum .... and I just love it!
