Advantages: The joy they bring

Disadvantages: Sleepless nights!!

Being a parent is a very special thing indeed. I tried for over a year to conceive my little boy, who is now nearly one year old. The pregnancy bit was not too great, and the labour bit we will scoot over, but once that little bundle of joy is in the world, you can never imagine life without them. I won't deny that being a parent is extremely hard work, but it is worth every second. They do grow so quickly though, so you have to enjoy every moment as much as you can. The baby stage goes so very fast, and before you know it you have a little person absorbing all the information around them and learning so very fast. I remember willing my little boy to play with his toys, and hold objects in his little hands, and to actually do something, but now I realise that I should have appreciated the time when he could do very little, as now I can't get anything done around the house unless he is asleep.......hence the "hard work" bit. But again I stress they are worth it. As I am typing now he is tugging on my legs, so I better be off. Just know that being a parent is the best and hardest job that you will ever do!
