I wanted to write about colic in the being a parent section because I think it is one of the biggest tests of early parenthood. I am not going to offer any cures or advice on colic for the following reasons: When your baby starts screaming (and I mean screaming) for the first time, you get very panicky and you rush them to the docs only to be told its colic, no cures, just have to put up with it etc etc. But you still think something is wrong, night after night you think is it me? is it the milk? the bottles? etc etc. Now this is where the big money spinners come in all the anti colic bottles, colic drops, etc etc all the things are aimed at us poor desperate fools who think that we have found a cure- that our baby will not be in pain any more, but THEY DON'T WORK, they may help but they dont stop the colic. So I offer no advice I only want to convey my feelings of sympathy to all you out there going through the same as us, hang in there they wont be doing it when they are 16!!!!!

Thankfully my son is past the colicky stage too now, but did suffer midly with it when a baby. You are right the 'anti colic' bottles/teats dont work at all. In its favour we did find that infacol gave some relief, avliable from supermarkets and chemists, reasonably priced too.
