C Sections not all that bad! (Birthing Methods in general)

After 4 days of intense labour I was relieved to be told I would be given an emergency section, by this point I welcomed it and just got on with it,I was given an epidural and was taken to theatre where my beutiful baby boy was 'removed'!! I had a very difficult night as I was on a drip and on my own in a room with my son and the night sisters were not very helpful especially as I couldn't move, but by the morning I had the feeling back in my legs and had all the drips removed etc so I could get up,I was told as soon as I started walking about I could think about going home so as you can imagine I was up and about straight away with the help of my very understanding and helpful husband and within 3 days the midwifes had to discharge me,please don't think I was in no pain I was full of heavy duty pain killers but by day three had started weaning myself of them,when you have this beutiful new life you just want to be ok for them and get home to begin being a family,I did everything the midwives told me and recovered very quickly and within a week I was away visiting my family to show off my new son, so I have to say my experience of a section was not all that bad and in fact I am due to have a planned section on the 9th April 01 at the advice of my obstetrician,the only thing that did upset me was the many women who asked me 'did you feel cheated because you didn't have a normal birth?'I did not feel cheated as the result of my 'not normal'birth was a very healthy son and obviously for me a ceasarean section is a normal birth.
