I would recomend buying a packet of these to every expectant mother weather you intend to breast feed or not.

Firstly for any one who doesnt know a breast pad is a absorbant pad used inside your bra to absorb any leakage of breast milk, you can buy disposable or washable breast pads. I have tryed both, the washable breast pads cost me around £5 for a pack of 4 pads and the disposable ones cost me £2 for a pack of 20.

You will need these weather you decide to breast feed or not as you choosing not to breast feed doesnt mean that your breasts wont produce milk in the first few days so there will still be leaks untill your milk has dryed up.

After the birth of both of my children i turned into the human cow, my breasts would leak every time my baby cryed, not so bad with my second child as she only cryed when hungry but with my first child she cryed a lot so i got through a lot of these breast pads.

The washable ones are a cheaper option in the long run and are more enviromentally frienly but i found that if my milk leaked heavily the breast pad would leak aswell as they dont have a plastic backing like the disposables and they do tend to move around a bit if you are quite active as there is nothing to stick them to your bra.

The disposable breast pads have there down side too, although they keep your skin dryer as they have a dry weave top sheet to lock wetness away like a sanitary towel has they also have a plastic backing and this is great at preventing leaks but does sweat your skin especially at night.
The good point to these is that they have a sticky backing holding them securely in place which is great at preventing leak also.

I would recomend trying both and seeing which suited you the best but if you dont intend to breast feed i would buy the disposable ones as this is cheaper in the short term.
