Advantages: Don't feel the contractions

Disadvantages: Recovery takes long, feeling tired and drowsy soon after

I had a normal delivery with my first child and with my second pregnancy too I was hoping it would be a normal. But at the 5 month scan it showed that the baby was in a breeched position. We were hoping that baby would turn around and come back to the normal position but she decided to stay the way she was.
I was admitted to hospital the day before the operation and was feeling really nervous about having a caesarean. The next day I was taken to the theater earlier than scheduled I was feeling terrified when I was taken in.

The doctors and nurses there were really friendly and the anesthetist was particularly very friendly and this made me feel a little more relaxed. Then I was given the epidural and within a few seconds I was feeling really sick and felt like I wanted to throw up, then they gave me an oxygen mask to wear which made me feel even more miserable. After some time I was feeling fine again.

Then there was a screen sort of thing that was put on my chest so that I couldn't see what was happening. But I could still feel that I was being cut and felt like some tugging and pulling happening in my stomach. It was a weird feeling I felt. Then sooner than I expected I heard my sweet baby cry. It was really great, unlike with my first baby this time I got more time to admire my baby. It was such a precious moment that words cannot explain how I felt watching her while the doctors were continuing to do the operation.

Then my baby was taken to the NCU while I was still in the recovery room. After sometime my baby and I were in the same room. But I was feeling so drowsy and in pain I didn't really hold the baby much.

The biggest disadvantages I thought were,
that I was too drowsy and tired to cuddle/talk/play with my new baby and that recovery took much longer than after a normal birth.

Normal or c section the first time you see the baby is so precious it makes you forget all the pain and whatever choice you choose seems worth it.

Summary: The only option I had was a c section
