I'm writing about an ante-natal care option which was offered to me while pregnant with my first (and so far only!) baby. It's called caseload midwife care, and I'm not sure if it's exactly the same thing as domino delivery, but is along the same lines. Basically, the same midwife sees you through your pregnancy, delivers your baby, and comes out afterwards until you have been discharged into the care of a health visitor. You also get to meet the midwife's partner, in case she is on duty when you give birth. This happened in my case but I felt reassured because I'd already met her. When we were expecting our daughter, so far our first and only, I decided that I wanted a home birth mainly because I knew that I would be more comfortable in my own home than in a hospital and I wanted a relaxed atmosphere and did not feel that this would be possible in hospital.
