You wouldn’t go to the supermarket to buy eggs loose (unprotected) and then expect to get them home without cracking them, then why is it that some parents allow their children to ride a bicycle without a helmet.

I have even seen kids being carried on one of those child seats strapped to the back of their parents bike without a helmet on yet the parent who was riding the bike was wearing a helmet.

It might not be trendy and hip to wear a helmet but gone are the days when they looked like bedpans and when it comes to the safety of our children, cost should not come into it either. Its not as if they are hard to come by as they are readily available from places like Argos to sports shops and even supermarkets and they all have to conform to British standards.

So mums and dads don’t let your child go on their bike without a helmet on, as it only takes the smallest of bumps in the right place to cause a lot of pain and suffering and mums and dads if you to are cyclists, be it for pleasure or exercise wear a helmet as well.

I totally agree. I myself wear a helmet when cycling and personally, Ithin k it should be made law. Think seatbelts, rear seatbelts, etc. Laws like this save lives.

agreed - but please make sure you make sure the straps are adjusted properly and the kid understands the importance of keeping it tightly fastened.
A unfastened helmet is not much use at all......
