Advantages: The Freebies / Samples / Coupons. Website is easy to navigate
Disadvantages: None for me
I joined the HiPP baby club when my son was new born, at the recommendation of friends. (In fact I think I joined every baby club going at the recommendation of friends).
The baby club is ran through the website, www.hippbabyclub.co.uk. Signing up is very easy, you simply complete on on-line form with your name and address, your child / children's date of birth and a few other details, nothing too personal and certainly no bank account information. Membership to the HiPP Baby Club is completely free.
HiPP regularly send me coupons / vouchers to use on their products, which can be used in any stockists. When my son was around 5 months (just before recommended weaning age) HiPP sent us a sample pack which included some sample products; follow-on milk and breakfast cereal if I recall correctly, a bib, a spoon and a weaning guide, along with loads of really useful information.
HiPP regularly email me with advice or tips about my child and even sent personal child development calender shortly after I registered.
The website itself is very easy to navigate, offering expert advice on development and health. There is also 'chat' available with other HiPP members, though I have personally never done that, so I can not comment on that aspect of the site.
they run regular competitions. Actually, I say regular.... I just liked on the site and see that they still have the Father's Day competition running (21st June) so perhaps that is a bit outdated.
There is an on-line pregnancy calender which will show you your baby's developement week by week while in the womb. You can also create and download a personal birth plan, but again, I didn't use this part of the site. (I did not 'plan' the birth because I did not want to be dissappointed if it did not go accordingly. Good job too, I would have been pretty gutted by the traumatic experience - but that is a whole different story - and I got the bext prize at the end of it all).
I do check out the products and new products to see if there is anything we can try, but on the whole I rarely use the website itself.
I would definitely recommend any expectant or new mums to join the HiPP Baby Club, for the freebies if nothing else.
Summary: Apart from the freebies the website can be useful if you take advantage of it
