Advantages: comfortable, private and promotes natural birth but with a safety net!

Disadvantages: i dont think it has any?

many hospitals now have 'home from home' rooms available giving mothers the best of both hospital and home births.

These rooms focus on being a relaxing and private environment with a supply or birthing aids (e.g birthing ball, birthing stool, birthing pool). They encourage mums to move around and do what they want to do keeping birth as natural as possible yet still being within close range of help if it is needed.

problems can be encountered and quick medical attention is often essential. with a home from home room it is there if you need it, yet gives you the oppourtunity to birth without it if you are able.

think of it like driving a car. it is unpredictable, you dont know what might happen. the hospital just acts as the seatbelt incase you get into trouble. you wouldnt drive a car without a seatbelt just because the chances of not having an accident outway the chances of having one. so in my opinion you shouldnt try to labour without hospital facilities at hand should you need them.

tried, tested and approved!!

Summary: as natural as possible but without the risk
