Advantages: Really support your puppies.
Disadvantages: ugly!
Maternity bra's shouldn't be mistaken for nursing bra's. The one in the picture is actually a Nursing bra which has a little clip on the strap so you can undo your bra for your baby to have 'Pippy' (thats what we call it in our house and that was way before 'bitty' ever came into play).
When you find out you are pregnant then it's time to ditch all of the sexy lingerie and hit the shops to buy a maternity bra or 'Granny' bra as I like to call it. I got fitted in Mothercare and ended up buying the most unattractive thing you have ever seen in your life from there too. Not only was it unattractive but it cost the earth too; around £20 for one! Ridiculous you say? Yes very but if you want to keep those boobies in good nick then it's worth forking out for one or two.
As you progress through your pregnancy you will notice that your balloons will.........balloon! They will grow and grow and grow and you need something that is comfortable. Despite looking like an old ladies piece of underwear they really are comfortable and the great thing about them is that they have straps that are about ten inches thick..........Oh no.........the great thing about them is they don't have any underwire which can affect your milk supply if you have wires sticking into your boobs.
Going back to the straps though; They are really thick and if you are heavily pregnant in the summer then you can forget all of the nice strappy tops unless you don't get embarressed by the great big, thick straps that caress your shoulder.
Your partner will probably not be too impressed with these bra's either but I would definately recommend you get a few because when you are pregnant the main thing that will need is comfort and they are definately that.
Summary: An essential for the pregnant woman
