A miscarriage tears the heart out of a women. In a lifetime I will have to say that has got to be the hardest thing that a women has to deal with. Men have to deal with this also but to have a living being that was inside oneself causes a lot of emotional turmoil.

There is such a hole in the heart and a empty space in the arms that long to hold a precious little bundle of joy. But, it is not to be.

The mom cries out in pain, Why me? What have I ever done to deserve this? She sits for hours on end and thinks about the injustice of it all. In her mind she questions, Why did I have a miscarriage and my friend didn't?

She curls up on her bed and wonders about the child that would be no more and heartfelt tears stream down her face. Many thoughts go through her mind, such as: Who would the baby have looked like? Would the child have been a boy or girl? What would the child have accomplished in her/his lifetime. There are many more questions but there are no answers.

There is a void in the heart that just cries out to be filled, but can see no way for that to happen. If you are lucky enough to have a good friend who will listen and not pop off advice, that helps.

The one thing to remember is you need to give yourself time to grieve and deal with the reality of what has happened. I know the feeling of hurt and despair because I have been there to the edges of hell and back again.

There is always hope even if it doesn't seem so at the time.
