There are various lists available that tell you what you should take with you to the hospital. Almost every pregnancy book has one.
What I found was that these lists were too complicated. They made it seem like you had to spend a long time packing your bags.
I would suggest that if you are about to have a baby, just pack the following things:
clothes to wear at the hospital
clothes to come home in
sanitary towels
knickers (disposable ones are ok for the hospital, but personally I preffered the normal knickers)
breast pads
a dressing gown if you want, it is not important
slippers, or shoes to walk around the hospital in
baby clothes (babygrows and baby vests, keep about 4 because baby's like to be changed often
clothes to bring the baby home in (warm clothes if it is cold, including a coat)
bottles if you are bottle feeding, however most hospitals provide milk
nappies and cotton wool, because hospitals don't provide either of the two
good luck!
