Paracetamol!!! No-one ever suggested to me that it would be a good idea to take a small supply of my own pain killers into hospital for after the great event and it would have been a really good idea. Obviously during labour you get the various options available, however once your little baby is born you are often wheeled away and become very low priority in the hospitals eyes. I was as sore as sore can be after my little boy was born and was desperate for some pain relief but paracetamol came on the drug trolley and was only dispensed at certain times of the day. In the end I had to get my husband to go and buy some. It is perfectly safe to take paracetamol (at normal levels) if you are breastfeeding. So don't forget to put some in your washbag. Hopefully, you won't need them!
