Nappies rule OK! (Nappies in General)

Over the 13 years I've been a Mum I must have bought thousands of the things. Nappies! You can't live without them, when there's a baby in the house, but you sure can live very happily with them WHEN THEY LIVE UP TO THEIR PROMISES!!! I remember 13 years since when the choice was still terry or disposable..I used to tell all the enquirers "Well I don't smoke and I don't get out much these days so disposable nappies are a little luxury right now(!). Of course as time moved on and 3 more little babes made their appearance, individually I may add(!), disposable bacame the norm everywhere. So be it I thought. The BIG TWO (you know who I mean) will have this thing sown up. No more leaks or sagging lumpy nappies now. That's what the advert says. And it was so, for a good while. Improvements came and improvements went ie. velcro fasteners that stuck to the baby's clothes and slipped off energetic toddlers etc. But still I kept shelling out for the same two companies thinking"you only get what you pay for, I want the best for my child etc. etc."! Yet here we are in November 2000 and my 2 year old has had to face nappies that grow HUGE and unwearable after one peepee or slip down his leg with the weight. Don't get me wrong I do change him on a very regular basis and the 4 boys together have only had nappy rash on 2 or 3 occasions between them EVER which I think is a rather commendable feat. But why oh why do manufacturers have to alter a fine product presumably just for change sake? Surely you can't improve on perfection and along the way both companies have hit on this with nappies that fit comfortably, don't bulk up after the occasional use and have a nice fit around the tummy area. I thank my lucky stars that the end is near as far as me purchasing these products go and a hearty GOOD LUCK to the up and coming new market of nappy buyers who put their trust and good money, not to mention their babies, into Summary: |
