Advantages: Pain releif instantly.

Disadvantages: Can be 'sucked off'

I wasn't sure if I would need them or exactly how to use them but they were cheap and they promsied to protect sore nipples.

My first baby fed well but had oral thrush and this in turn gave me cracked nipples. Ohhhh! I still remember the pain.

I tried them and it was bliss once the milk was flowing I took them off as the pain would ease any way. I stopped dreading that first minute of the feed and my nipples returned to normal.

I felt I had to hang on to them as my baby seemed to suck the whole thing of my breast.

I was lucky that I only had to wear them when I was feeding.

I checked this out after I saaw you'd read my Glasgow Green Festival thingy and I have to tell you that I had the same problems as yourself but I never foun out about the shields, - maybe they didn't have them in 1968?
Anyway, I found that I had a problem visa vie my nipples, from about the second week of my pregnancy and it just got worse. I had to give up my job as the bag they gave a bus conductress in thos days was to say the least, in the wrong place for comfort!

All through my pregnancy the promblem simply got worse.

After having my son I continues to suffer discomfort.
It was not until several years later that I found I was wearing a bra that was too smoall and things started to get better.

The discomfort is AWFUL and I simpathise with you.
I do hope you have found another solution as it can't be fun wearing anything like the shields, especially on hot days.
