Advantages: get to spend loads of time with my son
Disadvantages: it's so lonely
I've recently become a single parent, SOMEBODY HELP ME. Where do I start, what do I do next, is any body listening to me. My wife walked out on myself and my three year old son in November(what a time to go, just before christmas). Now I've been left to cope on my own. I find that I'm depressed ,miserable, lonely and skint. Now I consider myself lucky because I have always been able to deal with kids, but that does'nt help when your left in this situation. What makes the situation worse is that all my so-called friends have disappeared ,who wants to know a single man with a kid in tow. Family members have been supportive but they've got kids of their own so you don't like to bother them with problems. People keep saying it gets better with time. What a load of crap it does'nt get better you just get used to it. I'm not complaining about looking after my son, infact I would say that I'm enjoying every minute of it. It's just trying to cope with the break up of my marriage, looking after the house and paying the bills and then on top of all that I have to keep answering the question that my son keeps asking (where's mummy). So if there's any body reading this that can give me some practical advice please feel free to leave a commentary or send me an e-mail. If this opinion does'nt make that much sense or isn't well written then I can only apologise but this is a very emotive issue for myself. I like to thank all those that have given me advice and support throughout the last few months but gladly my wife has returned and we are trying to sort things out.

No matter what else anybody puts us through that is what keeps you going. I'm glad to hear that things are getting better, best of luck. |
