Advantages: Fruit and Veg reducde cancer., veg is good for the body and helps skin tone, children are happy to eat food if you tell them is from Hogwarts.

Disadvantages: you cannot disguise the taste.

As a parent my self I am aware of how difficult it is to get children to eat fruit and veg. My youngest son was born with health problems and all the doctors recommended that i feed him fruit and veg. This as many of you will be aware is much easier said than done. after months of tears every meal time and insisting that all the veg must be eaten before any one could leave the table I hit upon the idea of disguiseing the veg. For what it is worth here is what i recommend.
Place a few drops of food colouring into the veg as it is cooking, this sends the veg a different colour, the children dont see them as greens then and are more likely to eat them. Most children are put off eating veg by the colour not the taste. You can also make fun meals with the different colour food. try making a punk face with mashed potato and multi coloured veg hair.
You can also cut parsnip, sweede and carrots into strips and fry them as a healthy alternative to chips, try them yourself you may like them I do.
Also if you cannot get your children to eat fruit, try juicing it, you can add food colouring to this too. Its great fun at parties. You can have a Harry Potter theme and tell the children that the drinks are magic potion,s
Have fun and here's to a generation of healthy eaters.
