Advantages: stops itching, cools skin, soothes skin with no mess

Disadvantages: none

When I was pregnant I was obsessed with mine and the baby's health as most mums are. I would not use any chemicals, take any medication or alcohol. I was so bad I refused to have my hair dyed. I know it sounds extreame and when I look back I think "oh my god, how obsessed was I?"

I would rinse the bath about 20 times after cleaning to ensure that i did not get any chemicals on my skin and used roll on deodorant. (told you I was obsessed)

About 4 months into pregnancy I began to itch like mad. It did not help that it was 93 degrees and I was still having to wear my white coat at work. I spoke to my Doctor and he gave me E45 which was as good as water to me. I was scared to try too much incase it was harmful to the baby but this itching was driving me mad. I needed something to cool down the skin on my tummy.

Lucky for me I worked in a pharmacy so it was easy for me to find a solution, which I did.

I found a cream with calamine and witch hazel. It was great, instant relief. Cooled my skin really quickly and reduced all the redness.

It came in a 50g tube and was a white cream which was absorbed through the skin. No white powder and no itching. It cost me £1.99 and contained no harmful chemicals. It was perfect.

It is a generic cream which means that it does not have a brand name. You can buy it in local chemists, asda or online at pharmacy2u.com.

A highly recommended product for itching for anyone, not just if your pregnant.
