Advantages: erm... i'll hopefully be able to fit having another 10 kids in my life(well another 2 at least haha)

Disadvantages: the stigma attatched to being a young mum

Well i've not long turned 19 (september 08) and my little boy is around 4 and a half months old now meaning i was pregnant when i was 18. I have been with my partner for around 3 years to date so around 2 year when we found out i was pregnant. We had lived together from day one really, we were inseperable, but really got our 'own place' about 6 month before we found out. We had talked about it and both felt very strongly about having children so we were overjoyed with the positive result!!
I didnt tell my parents until i was around 5 month pregnant, they didnt seem too happy at first but they soon warmed to the idea. I am quite mature for my age, and absolutely love children, so the thought of me not being able to cope or anything like that didnt cross my parents mind.
Around month 6 of my pregnancy we moved from the north east of england to the north west to a bigger property and to be closer to my parents.
I absolutely love my little boy and partner to bits and wouldnt change anything! I feel that im a good Mum and i find it all came very naturally. I dont really experience any problems being a young mum, but i do sometimes get some dirty looks. I do understand that people will see how young i am and expect me to be living in a scruffy council flat with no money, no job and a single mum but its the opposite for me really, i am engaged to the man i love, we privately rent a lovely two bedroomed house, i work one day a week and my partner works 5 days a week!

Summary: Im a young Mum but not to be judged, i feel i do well :)

Nothing wrong with being a young mum when you're with your partner and self-sufficient. Been there, all worked out well. :)
