Before you read on,this is not aimed at genuine people. In the area I live there are many teenage mums, some of whom have children by different fathers, some of whom conceived their children on the streets, when they were hanging about out there in their gangs, screaming and shouting,p****** everyone off till all hours. They seem to get priority in most things.Their kids all have the latest sporting fashions and as much freedom as possible.Sadly,it seems that many of the rude, violent ,destructive, disrespectful little brats that live nearby are the children of these loud mouthed girls, who for some reason never see fit to disipline their children unless it interferes with their chats with other loud mouthed girls. Then you hear the'shat your f****** mayuf you little f*****' to which the child will make some comment like'fat cow'.Bless ! If they had an ounce of intelligence they would look at their kids and think 'how can I send them to school in those £90 trainers and that £100 jacket, boasting of their new £70 scooter, dvd player e.t.c and have the cheek to claim free school dinners and only pay a few pounds towards the school trip when most other parents are paying £150'well they are not intelligent, things like that go straight over their heads, yet they are far from stupid. They know exactly what benefits they are entitled to,the milk tokens (often exchanged for cigarettes in the local newsagents)free holidays (where most of their children run around intimidating other kids, causing disturbances, smashing things up,spoiling holidays for those who worked hard to pay for them while their parents sit in the bar)allowances for this ,that and the other. The majority though seem to be able to scrape together enough money for a car,p.c,music systems, videos, named clothing, fags and drink, the list goes on.So how the hell are we supposed to teach our kids that in life you have to work to get nice things.I know of people who work damned hard, getting a pathetic wage j
ust to pay the rent and put food on the table, these are proud people,I take my hat off to them. The way I deal with my childrens questions now when they ask why so and so has this and that and their parents don't work, I just point at said children and tell them I don't want them to end up like them, and they agree.I lay the majority of the blame on the now grandparents of these social sponges and it is down to me as a parent to make damned sure my kids don't make the same mistakes.

I agree too, I am a civil servant working in a department that has a lot of contact with the sort you refer to, it grates me when there are genuine cases out there, but its proving it, unfortunetly, these sort are always one step ahead. Like Emma though there are good sensible young mums out there, hats off to them, i find being a parent hard at 25!

I agree with you on this one! Whilst I appreciate that some teenage girls have genuine 'accidents' or plan theire pregnancy for the right reasons at a young age, I can't help but feel anger to the irresponsible and pity for the children.
