Throughout my pregnancy I was getermined to give breastfeeding my best shot, but was always going to do what was best for my baby.

My delivery was straight forward and although we struggled a little the first feed we were soon well away. However, my nipples soon became very sore despite lots of nipple cream and the midwife checking our latch it was still agony when she latched on after 2 weeks and 2 days.

She was also feedingevery hour which was wearing me out and even though I expressed what was enough to fill her she was still hungry an hour later.

Eventually I had to accept that my milk just didn't have the quality she needed and at 2 weeks and 2 days she had her first taste of formula. The releif for both of us was enourmous! For the first time she was satisfied and I wasn't getting stressed and exhausted.

Some people have a fabujlous time breast feeding and I will try again if I have another child but it just didn't work out for us.
