The place I come from(India) breast feeding is a very natural part of the parenting process..there is no debate about it...if you ca'nt feed your baby for some reason..thats fine .
So there really was'nt one iota of doubt in my mind when I was pregnant about to breast feed or not. When my daughter was born I had to struggle a lot with it during the first three days but loads of lanshinoh, family and health visitor support saw me through those days and I started having a little time on the computer too while I was feeding my little one at night.
Three months later I had mastitis and three persistant cysts and recurring blisters but that only made me adamant that I would see through all the ups and down nature had to present me with in my new challange.
I am happy I stuck to it because its the best feeling ever to have your baby so close to you and so utterly in harmony with you.I felt very nostalgic when she eventually gave it all up after 13 months by herself and shifted on to solid food. The added bonus of it was my little one never saw one day of ill health till she was breast fed.
I have a new hobby as well now- I make breastfeeding bracelets and breastfeeding necklaces as well.
I never found it a chore and I have fed my baby both indoors and outdoors without any qualms.
